It has been a couple of years since I gathered with a group of ladies for a Bible Study. I did not realize how much I was missing that. Last night as we looked at David's life together and reflected on the decisions he made during his crossroads, I was reminded that we have those moments each day. Each day our decisions small or large will affect the days to follow. Like our leader pointed out, David's sin could have started with just the "small" sin of feeling tired and deserving. He could have been thinking, Lord I have served you for many years out on the battle field, I'm tired and I deserve a break. That little feeling of I deserve this, could have been the beginning of the slippery slope that led to all of that trouble. I am going to strive to be on guard for that feeling and I hope you will too.
I will leave you with some verses a wise 19 year old shared with us.
I called on Your name, O Lord, from the lowest pit.
You have heard my voice:
Do not hide Your ear from my sighing,
You drew near on the day I called on You, and said,
"Do not fear!"
O Lord, You have pleaded the case for my soul;
You have redeemed my life.
Praise the Lord, our Redeemer!
